Family: Art as a Narrative

Below: This graphic is a very simplified chart showing direct influence between the four artists in this exhibit. The arrows point from the family member who was a source of inspiration to the artist who revealed in their interview that their art was directly influenced by this person. The ovals containing "professional artists" represents the various artists who influenced the subjects' art styles. The remaining ovals surrounding each artist's name contain the names of other artistic influences that the artist would consider family, blood relation or not. Note: each artist's position in the family tree is explained under each artist's "About" page under the heading "Familial Context."
