About This Exhibit

The influence of the people we love is a powerful force that transcends distance and time. There are so many aspects of life in which we can learn from the people we consider to be our family. This is an exhibit that seeks to show how one family has managed to stay connected by means of creating art and influencing each other in that pursuit.

The exhibit is composed of several pieces of art each from four artists. Each artist's gallery is complemented with biographical information and a written interview from each person. They were asked questions about their history of being involved with art, influences, and how they thought art could bring people together and strengthen relationships. In the artworks are the shared themes of releasing stress, memory, portraits, moments of realism, expressionism, and constructing identity in art.

As you view this exhibit, I encourage you to think about the people you consider to be your family and inspiration. Keep in mind that family should not be constrained to mere kinship or blood relation. We all get our inspiration and love from different places.

Thank you for viewing this exhibit, please enjoy.
